Article by Daniel Cruse

Whether you’re somewhere on a desert highway driving a Harley-Davidson or flying around the back roads on a Honda CBR model, a little bit of zen and some motorcycle maintenance can often mean the difference between making the curb or not. You only have to land on your back in the middle of a grassy field once to appreciate just how important this difference can actually be.

Obviously, your cleaning requirements will vary depending on how many miles you log and what the road conditions are like when you’re racking them up. Regardless, it’s not a good idea to get your motorcycle washed and cleaned at a commercial car wash. So, unless you’re independently wealthy and can afford to have your bike hand-washed by a bunch of bikini-clad supermodels, you’re going to end up doing it yourself (probably just as well… supermodels aren’t really known for their attention to detail). Here are some recommendations for keeping your bike in top condition.

Before beginning, always consult your owner’s manual. If you don’t have it or bought the bike used, try to track one down on the internet (most manufacturers will offer them as a free PDF download via their respective websites). A motorcycle owner’s manual will contain specific instructions for washing, including cleaning tips and products recommended by the manufacturer.

Always make sure the engine has cooled before washing. Wash your bike in a shaded area as the sun can dry the soap solution before you can rinse it, leaving soap marks on the surface (which more or less defeats the point of washing it in the first place). When you’re scrubbing off the road grime, give all the parts a thorough check. Be on the lookout for leaks and loose hardware, making sure everything is snug and secure.

After thoroughly rinsing, dry your bike with a soft white cotton cloth or towel that doesn’t have loose fibers. Cheap towels leave behind loose fibers that show up like cat hair on a business suit. Also, avoid using a paper towel as it might scratch the painted surfaces. Taking a cue from the commercial car washes, compressed air is a great option for drying and works especially well in hard to reach places, like around the motorcycle license plate frame. If you don’t have an air compressor, you can use a vacuum in a similar way by attaching the hose to the exhaust port, although a modest investment in a motorcycle dryer will pay off with just a few uses. Follow the cleaning process with a good coating of car wax to protect the finish and block dirt from taking hold as easily.

For those who have a collectable model or just don’t have the time to get on the roads as often as they’d like, there are a number of handy accessories – like a motorbike cover or motorcycle loading ramp – that protect your bike and prevent you from having to wash it as often.

Motorcycle covers provide a high-quality way to shield your bike from the elements and other airborne corrosives like dust. Don’t use a plastic tarp. They trap moisture and don’t breathe, allowing mold and corrosion to take hold. Motorbike covers also protect against UV rays, rain, dirt and pollutants while the built-in air vents let moisture evaporate.

Another handy accessory, Motorcycle ramps, features a strong weight capacity, wheel-guider sides, and sure-grip ramp surfaces, providing traction, stability and safety when transporting your bike from one location to another or onto a raised or lowered platform.

Storing your bike requires a little extra care. First, bring the tire pressure for both the front and rear up to the recommended PSI. Next, find an out-of-the-way spot to store it, and put the bike up on its center-stand. Then, block it up just enough to raise the front wheel off the ground and either remove the battery or hook it up to a trickle charger, maintaining the charge and health of the battery while not in active use.

Article by hi joiney

overview the is a front-wheel drive 5-passenger vehicle, classified as a truck in the u.s. by the nhtsa for cafe fuel economy calculations but as a car by most other metrics. chrysler specifically designed the to fit the nhtsa criteria for a light truck in order to bring the average fuel efficiency of the company’s light truck fleet into compliance with cafe standards. a turbocharged gt model was introduced for the 2003 model year. a convertible was introduced for the 2005 model year. the is manufactured at toluca car assembly in toluca, mexico. on march 8, 2006, daimlerchrysler announced that it had built 1,000,000 s at the toluca plant since february 14, 2000. the was also assembled in graz, austria, for global markets (outside north america) in 2002, using the production code pg. european s built in 2001 or from 2003 onwards are built in mexico under the pt production code. the american version features a 2.4 l four-cylinder gasoline engine. in addition to this standard model, a 2.2 l four-cylinder diesel engine built by mercedes benz is also available in europe, asia, and south africa. a 2 liter engine (d4re) was available outside the u.s. it produces 140 hp (100 kw) sae at 6500 rpm with 130 ftlbf (180 nm) of torque at 4800 rpm. when initially introduced, demand for the car was, in many cases, much higher than dealer supply, seeing customers put on waiting lists. anticipation of the car was high, making for a debut that was among the most successful in company history.[citation needed] in 2001 car and driver acknowledged the on its ten best list and the also won the north american car of the year. safety in 2002 euro ncap gave the a three (out of five) stars rating. results in the frontal impact test (6 out of 16 possible points) were in part due to the fact that the is designed -under u.s. regulations- to protect also unbelted occupants. height of the seats and side airbags helped to attain a maximum score of 16 points in the side impact test for 2009, the insurance institute for highway safety gave the the highest rating of good overall for occupant protection in frontal crashes and the lowest overall rating of poor for side crashes. it was the only small car to earn poor marks in both side and rear evaluations as well as the only small car to not offer electronic stability control. updates 2005 chrysler convertible 2006-present chrysler wagon while the body style remains remarkably consistent from year to year, there are actually multiple models of the , designated by unique badges in the lower left hand corner of the rear lift-gate. models include the classic edition, limited edition, touring edition, “dream cruiser”, “street cruiser”, “pacific coast highway edition” and gt. turbo edition models are identified by a “2.4l turbo” badge on the lower right hand corner of the rear lift-gate. the gt model has a badge on the right hand corner of the lift-gate says “2.4l turbo high output” (indicating it is the 220/230 hp engine version). a four-seat convertible model was added for 2005. it is a two-door car with an integrated “sport bar” for added rigidity and rollover protection. it was discovered that the sport bar also caused air to flow over the rear passengers, resulting in a less drafty ride for those in the rear seats. the was updated for 2006 to include scalloped headlights, a new ‘chrome’ grille (that no longer extended below the “bumper”), new lower front fascia which eliminated the patented brake cooling ducts (us patent #6,315,091), available round fog lamps and redesigned taillights. interior updates included an updated dash, new materials, and an analog clock to the center stack. the audio system featured a line-in jack for mp3 players integrated into the dash. the turbocharged 2.4 l four-cylinder engine was available in 180 hp (134 kw) or “high-output” 230 hp (172 kw) versions. a “mopar” cruise control unit became available as an after market unit on 2007 models. also in 2007, chrysler dealers were permitted to order vehicles with separate options (un-bundled options from option packages) such as anti-lock brakes and side impact airbags. sirius satellite radio radio also became an option which could be installed as a dealer option with a factory appearance (i.e. roof mount satellite antenna). design the was originally conceived as a plymouth model, before chrysler’s merger with daimler-benz. at the time, chrysler had planned a new look for plymouth, previewed by the plymouth prowler “hot rod”. styling cues from the prowler, particularly the grille, were used to create the plymouth pronto concept car in 1997. the look was refined, and in 1998, another plymouth concept called the chrysler pronto cruizer directly previewed the styling of the . the pronto cruizer was designed as a modern interpretation of the chrysler airflow with dodge neon components, but the final design used a separate platform. the new daimlerchrysler firm did not have much faith in plymouth as a separate entity, and began steps to rationalize and cancel the marque. consequently, the appeared in public only as a chrysler. the also resembles the 1997 chrysler ccv prototype which would evolve into the styling of the . trim levels profile view of canadian-market 5-door. 5-door wagon base limited touring touring signature series street cruiser gt walter p. edition 2006 only limited edition platinum series 2004 only dream cruiser series 2002-2004, 2009 only 2-door convertible base gt touring gt the gt (also known as the gt cruiser) is a turbocharged variant of the introduced as a 2003 model performance 215 hp (160 kw) @ 5000 rpm and 245 ftlbf (332 nm) @ 3600 rpm (2003-2004) 230 hp (170 kw) @ 5100 rpm and 245 ftlbf (332 nm) @ 2400 rpm (2005+) top speed being in excess of 120mph. standard features 4 wheel disc brakes with abs and traction control chromed 17″
If you want to introduce your child to the adrenalin packed experience of dirt road biking, then, the first step is to know something about children’s dirt bikes. Of course, like most parents, you too may have concerns about safety, the kind of bike to buy, precautions to be taken and so on. But the first decision you need to take is the kind of dirt bike to get your kid.

There are different kinds of dirt bikes specially designed for children. Some of the important features of these bikes include:
Training wheels for greater stability and balance
Low horsepower to ensure lower speeds (some bikes only touch up to 20mph!)
Electric starters so that children can start the bike easily
Low engine capacity making it easy for children to control the bike
Automatic transmission for better control

As the age and ability of the child increases, you can gradually opt for dirt bikes with greater power and speed.

What?
The 49cc dirt bike is for the beginner. For more advanced users, the 70cc engine is recommended. The latter is a 4-speed, semi-automatic machine. Then comes the 80cc dirt bike for kids whish again is a four stroke, semi automatic machine. Up to this point, all dirt bikes for children are automatic to facilitate better control. After this, the next step in the ladder is the powerful 125cc dirt bike for children.

The 125cc bike has 4 stroke engine and a 4-speed manual transmission. These bikes can touch speeds of 60mph or more. They are fitted with hydraulic disc brakes in the front and rear. Most dirt bikes of this caliber have kick-starts. Since the bike is powerful and has manual transmission, the child riding the bike must have sufficient experience and confidence.

When buying dirt bikes for kids, safety is the most important consideration. Therefore, parents must buy bikes that are suitable for the child’s age, height and experience. Buying secondhand dirt bikes for children must be done after careful evaluation of the bike by a professional.

How much?
Prices of dirt bikes for children depend on the features, power and size of the bike. Prices may start from 0 and go up to ,200. To get the best price, you must be willing to do some research and shop around for the best price.

Where?
Dirt bikes may easily be purchased from online stores. By shopping online, you can pick a bike from the best possible selection of bikes. You could also enjoy unbelievable price benefits.

However, before buying the bike online, it might be a good idea to take your child to a nearby store and have the child sit on a bike to evaluate how the bike feels. You could then order the same bike online.

After breakfast at 7.30 am, we started our 30km Bike Ride into the Chinese Countryside – Yangshuo, but Lorna was not happy at this time!!

The itinerary that we took was extraordinary, the scenery was remarkable. We went near the Butterfly Cave and Moon Hill and got some great pictures. On the whole the ride took about 3 hours and was worth every meter. Lorna even attempted to whip a little Chinese kid on the way around. We caught a man up on his bicycle and he had his one year old kid in a chair on the back. Lorna kept trying to peddle up behind him silently to grasp the child she was now referring to as “Ping”. She must be get locked up in the prison one day. Lisa, get your bags packed because you may need to make the rest of the trip with me!!

After the bike ride we went to a neighboring Yangshuo restaurant to have dinner, where we ordered Beer Fish and Beer Duck for the six of us. The beer fish is actually a local delicacy and I have to say it was exquisite. The beer duck was also very nice, and spicy, but it was all on the bone so became a little awkward. Now when I say it was on the bone, everything was there with the feet, the head and the beak!! July and Claire were a little shelved by this to say at the least! The food here was really good and also very cheap.

We went to have some Tai Chi lessons in the afternoon, and at first, there were only the five of us, but we were joined by 2 more half way through. The thing that stroked was the fact that we were taken to what seems to be the town square and had to do the lesson there, right in the middle of everyone. There were people taking photos and even filming the performance. I can even feel YouTube coming back to show me here. At any rate, the lesson was really excellent and we successed in having a full understanding of self defense and recreation afterwards. Although later in that evening, we did try to do the same Tai Chi moves on the dance floor in one of the local bars, which was not nice I can tell you!!

Article by Vikto James

In case of auction the seller presents the products on a public platform.
The selling price of the products are determined by the bids or offers of
buyers interested in buying them based on their individual estimation of
value of and need of the products.

Stop and go traffic causes excess wear and tear on your vehicle. Go
ahead and give your car a nice twenty minute ride at 55 mph on the
highway every couple weeks if you ¡°major¡± in short trips.

Taking lessons will greatly improve your chances of staying safe and
accident free since providing you retain what you have been taught, you
will be probably better than many motorists who have been driving for
considerably longer. Lack of sufficient training, or even no training at all
which is common in Ireland, will inevitably lead to accidents at a very early
stage in the driving career.

Buying a used motorcycle is a lot like buying a used car, and the same
rules apply. If you don’t want to have little moths and smoke-trails coming
out of your wallet as the result of a bad deal, or have your flashy new ride
suddenly blow up underneath your crotch in the middle of the freeway,
here are a few simple things to remember.

1) Yes, they are out to get you – no matter what the guy selling the bike
may say, there’s a good reason he or she is disposing of the bike you’re
buying. Granted, we can assume that there are honest bike owners out
there selling their old hogs because they got a newer model, or need the
money for something else, or just got tired of the hobby. But for every
one honest biker, you can expect ten or more who are getting rid of
something that is on the point of breakdown or, even worse, fencing
stolen goods. Paranoia is actually a good thing in buying used bikes.

If, in the early days of your working life you are unlucky enough to find
yourself jobless through either, takeovers, cutbacks or closures, a full
Driving License will enable you to pick up an interim job very quickly while
you regroup and examine your future options.

Since it was introduced back in 2002, Honda Insight’s 1.0-liter three-
cylinder gasoline engine and Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) motor-
generator have been modified, and the CVT model’s final drive ratio is
considerably lower, at 5.69:1 compared to 3.21 for the manual, to take
advantage of the CVT’s wider-spread “gear” ratios.

A dark brown or black oily fluid means the engine is leaking oil. A bad seal
or gasket could cause the leak. This is how my first car met its demise.

2) LOOK at the bike personally – if you can’t personally come over and
view the goods before purchase, forget it. If the seller lives too far away
from you to do a pre purchase inspection, forget about it. If you don’t
know anything about motorcycle mechanics and can’t bring along a friend
who does when you inspect the bike, forget about it. Look at the bike
before buying it and make usre that it’s in excellent running condition and
won’t be a lemon that will break down at the most inopportune moment
- like when you’re doing 80 miles an hour on the freeway…

3) Do your research – if you don’t know anything about bikes, go online
and check out motorcycle forums as well as the manufacturer’s website of
the bike you’re eyeballing. Make sure that the model you’re considering is
one known for durability, and also that dealers have a good parts supply
handy in case you need to do alittle bit of work getting your used bike up
to specs.

4) Ask for Help – don’t be shy to ask for advice from people who know
the biz. Bike forums will sometimes have specialists on the sites who give
advice for newbies. If you have any doubts or concerns, air them out
before making a purchase and get any points you may be a little shaky on
clarified. If you have a buddy who knows more about bikes than you, ask
him for help locating a good used bike. Just make sure, of course, that he
isn’t the type of “buddy” who’ll snow you for a percentage…

Always keep your car tuned up to ensure optimum performance. Car’s
that have not been serviced for a long time often have poorer fuel
efficiency Want QUALITY products from a trusted source? See Salehoo
and my Salehoo reviews.

Mitsubishi’s 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine is rated at 160 horsepower,
matching the output of the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. Mitsubishi
tuned the Outlander’s engine to deliver the bulk of its torque at lower
engine speeds. Mitsubishi’s MIVEC electronic variable-valve setup helps the
engine to operate at peak power and efficiency throughout the rev
range.

The cost of your policy is directly related to this amount. Many people,
particularly those who have had their insurance policy for a long time,
have never considered whether they ought to vary their deductible. If
you have a good driving record and are prepared to increase the risk of
paying a larger amount in the event of a (hopefully unlikely) claim you can
save money by increasing your deductible.

I just came back from a Boy Scout Camping trip and I can tell you that beach cruisers aren? just for the beach any longer. We left Friday and I was unsure whether to load our Beach Cruisers onto the car because we were running late. My son Bryce loves his Beach Cruiser called ?he Sammy Beach Cruiser? and my wife has her favorite Pink 24 inch Beach Cruiser (frame and wheel base is a little smaller to accommodate her 5 foot height) but for me it? the Chrome Beach Cruiser. I like the extra spokes, bugle horn and the Springer Fork that my bike touts. So we loaded them up.

Camping isn? what it use to be nowadays. People bring their pets, beach cruisers, electrical string lights and plan picnics within the campout. My wife loves camping so she packs a lunch and we put it in her beach cruisers basket and ride our beach cruisers out along the lake. The kids like to skip rocks along the surface of the water and our dog Max likes to chase the ducks and play with the other dogs.

I have never had a flat on my Beach Cruiser, while camping, but I use thorn resistant Beach Cruiser tires and I carry an extra inner tube just to be on the safe side. I use to ride a Stretch or Limo Beach Cruiser but I found that the ?ook? wasn? worth the pain I got in my back after a couple of hours of riding and that the maneuverability of these Stretch Beach Cruisers wasn? very good. This weekend my son raced another kid on a Stingray Bicycle and trounced him handily. For me, it just showed that nothing is better for basic bicycle riding than the standard Beach Cruiser whether you?e a kid or an adult.

Beach Cruisers were first introduced in the 1930 -1940?. Beach Cruisers are Bicycles which were/are characterized by a over sized seat, extended handlebars, fenders and typically a basket which attached to the front wheel. Rear Fenders were built with supporting steel rods and sufficient strength to support a picnic basket or a small child. Overtiime as lighter weight material was introduced few fenders were made that could support any weight and their only purpose was to deflect mud or serve as a cosmetic decoration on your Beach Cruiser. However, there are many types of fenders ranging from duck or flip fenders to fenders that wrap ? of the tire so as to give the Beach Cruiser a sinister look.

Beach Cruisers are know available in almost every color you can imagine. This beach cruiser season many manufactures are introducing models in orange beach cruisers, brown beach cruisers, silver beach cruisers and of course traditional colors of red, blue, green and pink beach cruisers.

Many people like decals on their beach cruisers but don? realize you can purchase these separately and really jazz up a otherwise plain beach cruiser. It is also realatively simple to create your own decals and instructions can be found on several good bicycle sites. Girls seem to like flowers, monkeys and sunshine on their beah cruisers while men go for the skull heads and cruiser crosses.

If I can help you with your own Beach Cruiser drop me a line or just send me a pic of you and your own Beach Cruiser and I’ll post it or you can upload it yourself. There is also Beach Cruiser assembly instructions at http://justbicycles.info

Thanks for listening see you at the beach (or camping).

Article by Ivan Shieldon Llesol

Dirt bikes are specifically built and designed for off-road use as compared to regular motor bikes. Pit bikes or mini dirt bikes are the smallest version of dirt bikes. For those who are smaller machines lover particularly kids aged 5 up to15 years old will surely find dirt bikes as their excellent choice. The smaller and smoother version of dirt bike is called mini dirt bike but still it does have the speed and power required. Pit bikes are usually bigger than mini dirt bikes and mini bikes; on the other hand most of these bikes are proficient of speeds of 50mph or even faster.

Those who have an inborn sense of exploration and want for speed, dirt bike racing or mini quad or mini bike racing will help you find extremely exciting. However, it is best to acquaint kids on using dirt bike. First of all, before they are permitted to get more contented with actual dirt bikes. Dirt bike for kids is created to provide appropriate information and updates to the children aged 4 to 15 years old who are hooked on mini dirt bikes or pit bikes.

What are the benefits of dirt biking? For starters, they get to know more about motorcycle engines. This is an added benefit if the biker is studying mechanical engineering and related courses. Since most engines are the same in principle, knowledge in motorcycle will also allow him to apply that knowledge when he repairs or does maintenance checks, car engines or generators.

Another benefit of dirt biking is that the biker gets to meet other dirt bikers. This can result to new friends and the building of camaraderie. Having new friends who share the same interest is always a pleasant experience. The same reason can also save monetary expenses. Imagine this. A biker needs to buy something to upgrade his dirt bike. A more experienced biker friend tells him another method or a trade secret which allows him to do the upgrade with little or at no cost at all.

Another benefit of dirt biking is that the biker is forced to exercise, which in turn, promotes a fit body and good health. Dirt bikes are powerful and heavy. To control them safely, one needs to have fine lower and upper body strength. All the bikers can develop his strength by having regular exercise and using dirt bike is considered as one form exercise. And of course, the greatest benefit of using dirt bike is that it can proffer the biker a great sense of adventure, fun, enjoyment and thrill.

Dirt bikes are immense for use in off-road driving. Featuring light body frames, long suspension and knobby tires, they can perform great across uneven and sloping roads. Even though they don’t have the same expected fit of full-sized motorbikes, it will surely let you experience the thrills at remarkably lower costs.

If you’re lusting for the choice of craggy tracks, nothing can beat clutching a dirt bike at bursting speed, bumps with intense fervor and running through the hills.

Article by Michael Wu

Today I rented a mountain bike and went cycling to the Moon Hill, which took about 1 hour. This karst mountain shape is famous as it has a hole through it and the view from the top is purportedly glorious. After I cycled through villages and saw many water buffaloes, I reached the bottom of the hill and started the one hour hike. You can see many little old ladies hiking all the way to the top (around 1290 steps), trying to sell hikers food and drink. Life is hard for the villagers, you can see old people doing heavy duty work over here and their plight over the years is observable on their faces.

I reached the top and the sight is rather spectacular, and there are karst mountains everywhere! I met a guy from Guangzhou here and then we went back to Yangshuo and had an awesome dinner! Since he is also travelling alone, we decided to go bamboo rafting and hiking around XingPing tomorrow so as to save on the cost.

Today I met an incredible person called Gina. She brought me to a party where all the people are nice and welcoming and we had a great time. These people have incredible faith – even though they are not very rich but they will try their best to offer the help to the poor people around the area. I’m deeply moved by their pledge and devotion and all the stories that they told me. I can’t talk too much about this so ask me when I come back. After that we went to eat some midnight foods and drinks and came back around 1am, hence this late entry!

Nonetheless, I have already told you my arrangement tomorrow, and on the 3rd day I will be going to Chengdu on a 25 hour train ride! I will pack a lot of food in my bag.
The Travel Channel has a great new programme: World’s Greatest Motorcycle Rides, by Henry Cole. He makes these rides on a Saxon! He likes the looks of the semi custom bike and more important, the bike drives smoothly and comfortably. US Highway 1, one of the most famous coastal rides in the world, hugs the west coast from San Francisco to Laguna Beach. Its 650 miles length is steeped in American history and iconography. There is adventure and luxury to experience in equal measure and the only way to feel the true sense of freedom and escapism is to ride it not drive it. If there is one route that delivers riding the American dream it has to be Highway 1.

Article by Helen Hecker

The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R motorcycle is a top-of-the-line crotch rocket. As one of the most popular crotch rockets or sport bikes in the motorcycle category it is probably most well known for its speed. It came into this world in 1999 and with ongoing testing it was the fastest production motorcycle in the world.

It enjoyed an excellent reputation among sport bikes however in 2000 the Japanese motorcycle manufacturers decided that they would have to change some of the specs. They were worried about the regulation that was bound to happen among various governments and they didn’t want to have any problems.

So in 2001 and the following years through 2008, they added what is called a timing retard to the fifth gear and a rev limiter. This changed the maximum speed to 186 mph from the 198mph that was enjoyed on the earlier model.

It has six gears however most will keep it in third pretty much for tooling around town and up to 60 mph on the local tracks.

The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R has a cool 3-way switch on the right handle bar. Choices are – one for full power and response and the other two switches reduce action and output.

And of course – it’s a crotch rocket so you’re going to be sitting close to the ground. It sits a little lower than some other models and the bars are not as narrow. But most crotch rocket lovers like this.

The translation of Hayabusa from the Japanese language is peregrine falcon. Thee peregrine falcon can travel faster than 200 mph. This Suzuki motorcycle certainly meets that definition.

In 2008 the crotch rockets or sport bike competition soared when the BMW K120S and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R were brought to the marketplace.

Suzuki is no longer called the GSX1300R in some countries because Suzuki dropped it and they call it simply the Hayabusa.

The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R can go a quarter mile in 9.62 seconds at 149 mph. It can go from 0-60 mph in 6 seconds and from 0-180 in 15.9 seconds.

The 2009 models come in white and silver, black and gray, black and gold and silver and gray. In 2008 the Hayabusa sold for ,000 or so. Although now, individual deals can be made with local dealers. And if you’re lucky enough to find a used Hayabusa that’s not all beat up, that’s good too and can save you a lot of money.

So if you’re thinking about buying a Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R sportbike you’ll get a high performance motorcycle – sport bike or crotch rocket that you’ll be proud to own, do endless motorcycle stunts and wheelies and love to ride! But don’t buy this crotch rocket – motorcycle as your first bike. Repairs can be expensive and one spill can end up causing a lot of damage. Get a used older bike and practice on that unless you’re an experienced rider now.
